An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly motivated Senior Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Ward at a private hospital in Sydney. 
As the Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be responsible for: 
  • Providing evidence based nursing care;
  • Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
  • Ensuring patient and staff  safety;
  • Ensuring e-learning and Mandatory training is completed on a regular basis.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will supervise, direct and guide nursing team members to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes.  The successful candidate will act as a role model to promote standards that reflect the Healthscope STAR values of Service Excellence, Teamwork and Integrity, Aspiration and Responsibility.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will fulfil their role within the Unit with the support of the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.
To be successful in this position you will require the following:
  • Current AHPRA registration;
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Surgical Spinal / Neuro Surgery;
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a patient advocate;
  • Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
  • Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to  learn new skills;
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, nights and weekends;
  • Well developed problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service;
  • Some experience in Team Leader role and/or management desirable.
