A thrilling chance awaits an adept Nurse Manager to lead a vibrant ICU nursing team at a private hospital in Brisbane.
This role will lead the delivery of exceptional, best-practice nursing care to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and an industry-leading patient experience. As a hospital leader, this position is responsible for the Unit’s performance across the following key domains: patient safety and quality, people and safety, financial, and operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION
As a NUM, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and direction to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital;
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care;
- You will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels;
- You will undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced nursing team members.
REQUIREMENTS
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes:
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Working with Children check (if relevant);
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
- Experience in the Acute setting;
- Degree in the relevant specialty area;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
- A high degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases;
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management;
- Demonstrated HR management experience.
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant field of specialty or working toward (desirable);
- Post-graduate qualifications in Leadership and Management (desirable).
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in the South East of Brisbane, has 120 inpatient Surgical and Medical beds, a rehabilitation gym, 7 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms, a day oncology unit, and an ICU; the facility provides care to the local community for over 40 years and continually embraces the highest quality of holistic patient care.
The six-bed ICU provides care to intensive care and high-dependency patients post-major surgery, and also patients from surrounding emergency departments and wards. These patients receive care under the supervision of one of four intensive care specialists. 24 hour medical cover is provided by the in-house Medical Officer.
REMUNERATION
The salary ranges from 64.45 to 70.96 depending on your experience.
