An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse ready to assume the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Day Surgery Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply.

The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of all patients. 

As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager:
  • You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
  • You will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human and material resources;
  • Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous performance;
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with the VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.


As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes:
  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Working with Children’s check;
  • 3-5 years of acute medical/ surgical expertise;
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
  • Current or previous ANUM or Clinical Nurse Specialist experience (desirable);
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Sound clinical knowledge;
  • Exemplary interpersonal, and communication skills and positive role modelling behaviour;
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management, and prioritisation;
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment;
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases.
