Exciting full-time and part-time opportunities are available for Associate Nurse Unit Managers to join the Surgical Unit at a private hospital in East Melbourne. This unit specialises in Orthopaedic, Neurology, and Gynaecology care, offering a variety of shifts to suit your schedule.
 
ROLE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate previous leadership in this area, as well as the maintenance of clinical experience and quality care to meet the best patient outcomes.
 
Some of the responsibilities may include:

  • Working closely with NUM to provide direction, support, and advice to nursing & support personnel on a shift-by-shift basis;
  • Constructively supporting the leadership of the NUM and assuming the responsibilities of the NUM in the absence of the NUM;
  • Demonstrating ability and commitment to support organisational development as directed by the NUM;
  • Facilitating effective working relationships with staff, customers, patients and VMPs;
  • Liaising with the Clinical Co-ordinator and NUM to manage patient workload and staffing requirements on a shift-by-shift basis;
  • Participating & actively supporting the achievement of the Unit and Organisational KPIs, Mission, Vision & Values.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:

  • Current Registered Nurse Registration with AHPRA;
  • Substantial post-registration experience;
  • Has completed, or is working towards, the achievement of Postgraduate qualifications (Degree/Diploma) in the relevant clinical specialty;
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.

The facility provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services within the 164-bed hospital, offering both private and shared rooms, each equipped with en suite bathrooms. With 11 general operating rooms onsite, key areas include Orthopedics, ENT/Otolaryngology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Paediatrics, Oncology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Rehabilitation, Urology, and Breast Cancer Surgery.
