ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Hospital Educator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, developing, and delivering nursing education courses and programs within the hospital's medical ward;
- Coordinating and providing hands-on educational support, clinical teaching, and facilitation, with a strong focus on graduate nurses and students;
- Promoting high standards of evidence-based nursing care by disseminating the latest best practice knowledge;
- Overseeing staff compliance with annual mandatory training and ensuring the completion of required eLearning components;
- Ensuring competency-based programs are available and facilitating the assessment of staff competencies for all medical ward personnel;
- Collaborating with the Medical Ward Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and executive team to identify and prioritize educational needs within the department.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Certificate IV workplace training and Assessment (or similar, working towards);
- At least 3 years of medical ward nursing experience;
- Demonstrated experience in the eLearning platform;
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

REMUNERATION
A salary rate of $58.35 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Hobart, is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds providing a unique range of acute services, including general surgery, specialty care in orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, breast, colorectal, oral, vascular, plastics, obesity surgery, and select surgery for paediatrics. The facility has a Critical Care Unit with 10 beds and a step-down unit with 15 beds.
