An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Registered Nurse or Manager seeking a change of scenery and a leadership role to join the Perioperative team at a private hospital in Sydney. This is a full-time, permanent position.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a key member of the PACU leadership team, you will:

  • Develop and lead a highly qualified, professional team, dedicated to delivering exceptional care;
  • Apply advanced PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) clinical skills and comprehensive knowledge;
  • Leverage strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills to foster a positive, professional workplace culture;
  • Motivate and influence team members to uphold high standards of professionalism and excellence;
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of flexible rostering, budgeting, and key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Uphold and promote a strong work ethic across the team;
  • Exhibit strong leadership by leading through example and inspiring others;
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of surgical patient flow strategies to ensure smooth operations;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors and other key stakeholders;
  • Champion a positive, professional culture and drive continuous improvement within the team;
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and refine quality processes to enhance performance;
  • Ensure a safe and supportive working environment for all team members.

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Registered Nurse AHPRA registration;
  • At least 5 years of extensive and current clinical practice in a PACU role;
  • Relevant Post Graduate tertiary qualifications, or willingness to work towards;
  • Demonstrate ability to organise their work in a systematic, accurate and timely manner displaying flexibility in a changing environment;
  • Knowledge of Quality processes, clinical indicators and audits;
  • Previous management/coordinator experience in an acute hospital setting.

ABOUT THE FACILITY 

The hospital, located in Sydney, is one of the largest private hospitals in NSW, providing an extensive range of surgical and medical services. The Operating Theatre complex has 16 theatres, 32 first-stage recovery bays, and an additional 32-second stage chairs. The specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery.
