An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Nurse Manager to manage the Recovery and Day Surgery Unit at a private hospital in Brisbane. It's a permanent full-time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital;
  • Provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of the nursing care;
  • Responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensuring the customer service is maintained at optimal levels;
  • Participation in marketing initiatives of the hospital to promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums;
  • Undertaking direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team;
  • Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety and achievement of hospital accreditation;
  • An active role in the management of WHS issues about the unit.  


REQUIREMENTS

  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a Perioperative environment;
  • Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on key performance indicators;
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice and facilitation;
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC national standards;
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement;
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team;
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Leadership and Management (desirable).

The hospital, located in the South East of Brisbane, is an acute facility, which provides acute Medical, Day Oncology, Surgical, Maternity, Rehabilitation and Critical Care services.
