An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Orthopaedic Unit at a private hospital in Cairns. This is a Permanent Full-Time position working 76 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster (night duty).
THE ROLE
As a Registered Nurse, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered within the ward.  Your key focus will be the evaluation, planning and delivering of care to patients within our Orthopaedic Ward. You will report to the Nurse Unit Manager and work across a rotating roster for night duty with on-call components.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful applicant would have previous extensive experience in a peri-operative environment  and meet the following criteria:
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience in an acute care setting, ideally with specialty Orthopaedic experience;
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients;
  • Any relevant post-graduate qualifications will be highly regarded, though not essential;
  • Able to work night duty shifts 9:45pm – 7:15am Tuesday – Friday.
