A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Midwife/Nurse to join the Maternity Services Team a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a permanent part-time position (38 hours per fortnight), Night Duty only. The unit features a 16-bed Postnatal Ward, 5 modern Birth Suites, and a 10-cot Special Care Nursery Level 2.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role offers the opportunity to work across all areas of midwifery within a collaborative multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and allied health professionals. The team provides holistic, woman-centred care before, during, and after pregnancy. Opportunities also extend to the Early Parenting Centre and Perinatal Unit, supporting families in the postnatal period.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife;
- Dual Registration will be highly regarded;
- 3 years' experience or more as a Midwife with Birth Suite or Postnatal experience;
- The ability to speak a language other than English will be advantageous, but not essential;
- Exceptional communication skills.

REMUNERATION
A base hourly rate ranging from $36.13 - $49.96 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital is a fully accredited, 121-bed acute medical, surgical, maternity, and mental health facility, providing for the healthcare needs of Melbourne's outer eastern communities. The medical staff provides medical cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a General Surgeon and Physician roster in place to facilitate direct admission and care of acute medical patients. The 5 modern operating theatres are equipped with the latest technical equipment, supporting minor and complex surgery. For acutely ill patients or following major surgery, the 3-bed High Dependency Unit provides constant care and supervision to patients requiring specialist attention.
