A new possibility awaits a talented and accomplished Registered Nurse specialising in Anaesthetics & PACU to work in the Theatres a private hospital in Darwin. It is a market-leading 12-week Introduction to Perioperative Nursing (Anaesthetic & PACU) program, with the successful participant joining the team on either a full-time or part-time (30 hours per week) basis.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members, Enrolled Nurses (ENs), and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care;
- Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs.
You will be partnered with highly experienced Theatre Clinical Facilitators who are dedicated to supporting your development.
- Experience a blended learning program that is focused on on-the-job training and supported by comprehensive Training Materials and Coaching;
- Suppose you are high-performing and stay for 12mths+ at a minimum of 30 hours a week. In that case, there is a possibility to continue to invest in your ongoing growth by supporting you to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Permanent work rights within Australia with no restrictions (unfortunately sponsorship is not available for this program);
- At least 1 year of experience post-registration in Acute Care;
- Have a Working with Children Check or be willing to get one;
- Be able to commit to a rotating roster including AM, PM/nights, weekends, and public holidays, with shifts ranging from 8 – 10 hours;
- A genuine passion for transitioning into the theatre environment;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated time management & organisational skills with the ability to meet objectives/timelines;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Ability to work well independently and within a team;
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
REMUNERATION
$37.97 - $50.97 per hour.

The hospital, located in Darwin, is a licensed 122-bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery, including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.
