Excellent opportunities exist for experienced Registered Nurses to join the Cardiac Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. Working in this unit provides opportunities for ongoing professional development, including ward-based educational in-services.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Registered Nurse - Cardiac, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Undertaking peri-operative nursing care in accordance with legislation;
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members, including Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs, in delivering patient care;
- Proactively assessing the perioperative nursing care provided to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients;
- Completing all required documentation in accordance with local and national policies;
- Caring for a variety of cardiac patients, including those with heart failure, chest pain, and arrhythmias;
- Caring for patients pre- and post-Cath Lab procedures, including coronary angiograms and PPMs;
- Preparing patients for CABG and valve surgeries.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in a cardiac ward;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Commitment to quality patient care;
- Ability to work well independently and within a team;
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
REMUNERATION
$36.03- $48.32 per hour based on years of experience.
