An excellent opportunity exists for a passionate and motivated Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care to join the Day Oncology Unit at a private hospital in Sydney.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to deliver patient care;
- Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Ideally experienced in administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments;
- Competency in PICC, Port, IV cannulation, and phlebotomy skills or working towards;
- Working with Children check (if relevant);
- Oncology nursing experience minimum 3 years;
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Works well independently and within a team;
- Basic computer skills.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Sydney, is a 98 patient-beds facility and provides a large range of medical and acute services, including seven operating theatres, an Angiography suite, 10-bed Intensive Care Unit, a Maternity Unit, a Level Two, six patient-bed Special Care Nursery as well as a Day Surgery Unit, Mental Health Unit, Oncology Department as well as pharmacy and radiology services.
