Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Registered Nurses with previous Surgical Nursing experience to work in a surgical ward specialising in Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, & Plastic Surgery at a private hospital in Melbourne.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Surgical Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering safe, researched-based standards of nursing care;
  • Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care;
  • Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs;
  • Leading successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomes;
  • Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs;
  • Acting as a role model for Safe Practice.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Current AHPRA registration;
  • At least 2 years of experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in a surgical ward;
  • Orthopaedic and neurosurgical nursing is highly regarded;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
  • Works independently and within a team;
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Exceptional computer skills.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The hospital, located in Melbourne's northwestern suburbs, is a fully accredited 186-bed major surgical, acute medical, and emergency facility. With a 12 cubicle Emergency Department, 5 operating theatres, a 12-bed critical care complex and a busy Day Procedure Unit, the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
