Excellent opportunities exist for enthusiastic and motivated Scrub Scout Registered Nurses to join the team at a private hospital in Sydney. Permanent Full-Time positions are available (Part-Time hours may be considered for the right applicant).

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Registered Nurse, you will bring your experience, take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking perioperative nursing care by legislation;
  • Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
  • Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
  • Ensuring patient and staff safety;
  • Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs to deliver patient care (RN only);
  • Proactively assessing the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the patient;
  • Documenting the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely, and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology;
REQUIREMENTS
  • Current registration with APHRA;
  • At least 2 years of postgraduate experience as a Scrub Scout Nurse;
  • Working with Children check (if relevant);
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team;
  • Basic computer skills; 
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards) (desirable);
  • Experience in Orthopaedic Surgery (desirable);

ABOUT THE FACILITY 

The hospital, located in Southern Sydney, has 168 overnight beds and specialises in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopaedics, maternity, and paediatrics. The hospital also has dedicated Day Surgery, a Coronary Care Unit and an Intensive Care Unit.
