A new exciting opportunity has arisen to step into a Clinical Nurse role within the operating theatre complex at a private hospital in Brisbane. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
As a Senior Clinical Nurse - Level 2 RN, you will assist in the operational management of the General Surgery Specialty within the operating theatres and provide clinical expertise to support the staff and growth of the general specialty.
You will be responsible for:
- Identifying staffing training needs of the specialty - General;
- Supporting new & experienced staff through preceptorship;
- Organising regular education opportunities, working with medical representatives;
- Working with the stores/procurement team in following up on stock & back orders;
- Liaising with surgeons regarding equipment & consumables for cases;
- Working within the Leadership Team towards positive outcomes for each patient , advocating for your specialty, surgeons & staff.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Minimum 3 years working within a general surgery role as Scrub / Scout;
- Demonstrated ability to show leadership and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a team environment;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to trouble shoot and problem-solve;
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development;
- Knowledge of infection control principles and practices;
- Knowledge of ACORN Standards & NHQSS;
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.

The hospital, located in the South East of Brisbane, has 120 inpatient Surgical and Medical beds, a rehabilitation gym, 7 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms, a day oncology unit, and an ICU; the facility provides care to the local community for over 40 years and continually embraces the highest quality of holistic patient care.
