An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced and highly skilled Perioperative Nurse to provide education, clinical leadership, and expert support across Day Surgery, Anaesthetics, Recovery, and Scrub/Scout services at a private hospital and Surgical Centre located in Orange. This is a permanent part-time role with flexible rostering.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Nurse Educator, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a clinical expert and resource for staff across all aspects of perioperative nursing;
- Providing ongoing education, supervision, and mentorship to nursing staff;
- Developing and facilitating training sessions, learning activities, and competency assessments;
- Collaborating with the Nurse Unit Manager on staff appraisals, audits, and quality improvement initiatives;
- Fostering a positive and professional learning culture while maintaining strong relationships with medical and multidisciplinary teams.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the successful candidate, you will possess:
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in an acute hospital setting;
- Demonstrated post-registration nursing experience within the perioperative space;
- Experience in nursing education and staff development;
- Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings;
- Post-graduate qualifications in the perioperative environment or Clinical Education (or working towards) are highly regarded;
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is highly regarded.

REMUNERATION
A base hourly rate of $56.82 + superannuation + applicable penalty rates based on experience level and qualifications.

The hospital, located in Orange, is a 62-bed facility that provides a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, rehabilitation, and psychiatric services. The hospital has 5 Operating Theatres. Apart from general medical and surgical beds, there are 17 licensed rehabilitation beds and a 13-bed mental health unit.
