Clinical Nurse Specialist – Orthopaedics | Tamworth

The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced-level Registered Nurse who acts as a clinical and professional resource person, demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all facets of caring for the patient. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Manager and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital.

Your duties will include:

• Contributing and participating in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in department orientation, in- servicing and clinical competence programs;
• Making valuable contributions to the Hospital continuous improvement processes;
• Demonstrating high levels of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting;
• Supervising the delivery of quality patient care, developing standards of practice and implementing changes to clinical practice;
• Delivering quality improvement initiatives within our clinic;
• Working in an active leadership role, including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Current nursing registration with AHPRA;
• Minimum four (4) years' experience in orthopaedics;
• Demonstrated experience in orthopaedics and theatres;
• Post-graduate qualification, undertaking the same or working towards;
• Excellent time management skills;
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required;
• Excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills to ensure excellent customer service is delivered;
• Ability to work a rotating roster.

REMUNERATION

On offer is a base hourly rate of $56.82 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

The hospital, located in the Tamworth region, is a Medical & Surgical Hospital with a large Day Surgery Unit adjacent to the 3 operating theatres, a large procedure room, and a High Dependency Unit. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, endoscopy, ophthalmology, gynaecology and rehabilitation.
