An exciting career opportunity as a Hospital Educator awaits a motivated and passionate nurse inspired by professional development and nurturing of others at a private hospital in Hobart. This can be either a permanent full-time or part-time position.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will play a key role in ensuring the planning, development and teaching of nursing education courses/programs at the hospital are well thought out and executed. 

As the PACU Educator, your responsibilities will include: 
  • Planning, developing, and delivering nursing education courses/programs within the hospital's PACU team;
  • Coordinating and providing hands-on educational support, clinical teaching/facilitation, and orientation to all staff, with a focus on graduate nurses and students;
  • Promoting a high standard of evidence-based nursing care to all patients through the dissemination of current best-practice knowledge;
  • Supervising staff compliance with annual Mandatory Training and completion of eLearning components;
  • Ensuring best-practice, competency-based programs are available and providing assessment of staff competencies for all medical ward staff;
  • Working with Perioperative leadership and hospital executive team members to prioritise departmental education requirements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Certificate IV workplace training and Assessment (or similar, working towards or willing to);
  • Minimum of 3 years PACU nursing experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in an eLearning platform; 
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Passion for supporting more junior staff clinically in their career.

REMUNERATION

$63.72 per hour

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Hobart, is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds providing a unique range of acute services, including general surgery, specialty care in orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, breast, colorectal, oral, vascular, plastics, obesity surgery, and select surgery for paediatrics. The Maternity suites are designed on the contemporary labour/deliver/recover model, fitted with state-of-the-art technology, including K2 fetal monitoring systems, and provide various resources used during childbirth.
