There is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join the Rehabilitation Team at a private rehabilitation hospital in Sydney. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patients on their rehabilitation journey, helping them achieve their goals and maximise their independence. You will provide advanced clinical nursing expertise, leadership and support within the rehabilitation service. Working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager, you will assist in day-to-day operational management of the ward, support staff development and promote the delivery of safe, high-quality patient-centred care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert clinical care and advice within the rehabilitation setting;
- Coordinating and facilitating patient-centred rehabilitation programs;
- Supporting patients and families through their rehabilitation journey;
- Acting as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff;
- Promoting best practice, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives;
- Assisting with discharge planning and transitions of care;
- Collaborating effectively with medical, allied health and nursing team;
- Participating in education by working closely with the hospital educator.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Minimum 5 years post-graduation experience, with demonstrated experience in rehabilitation, aged care, neurological, orthopaedic, subacute or palliative care;
- Previous experience in senior nursing or leadership role;
- Excellent clinical assessment and care coordination skills;
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrates commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement;
- Postgraduate qualification or a related field, or willingness to undertake further study will be highly regarded.
REMUNERATION
$60.59 - $67.23 per hour.

The hospital, located in Northern Sydney, is one of Australia's largest private dedicated rehabilitation hospitals, specialising in orthopaedics, cancer/oncology and neuro-spinal rehabilitation. The rehabilitation services are undertaken with a team-based approach, including rehabilitation specialists, resident medical officers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, psychologists, diversional therapists and nursing staff.
