An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and dedicated Scrub Scout Registered Nurse with Orthopaedics and/or Urology experience to join a high-performing theatre team at a private hospital in Melbourne. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available for an experienced Theatre Scrub Scout who is passionate about delivering high-quality perioperative care, with flexible shift options on offer.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and maintaining the operating room for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use;
  • Assisting the surgical team by scrubbing in, passing instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon;
  • Monitoring and managing the sterile field to ensure patient safety and prevent infection;
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to provide optimal care during surgical procedures;
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of procedures and patient information;
  • Adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols;
  • Contributing to efficient theatre operations and positive patient flow outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Working rights within Australia;
  • Demonstrated Scrub Scout experience in Orthopaedics;
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing clinical demands;
  • Confidence to liaise with and support VMOs;
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and clinical excellence;
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and time management skills;
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification;
  • Scrub Scout experience in other specialities including Urology, Plastics and General Surgery (desirable);
  • Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing or working towards completion (desirable);
  • Knowledge of ACORN standards and guidelines;
  • Experience with electronic patient documentation systems.

REMUNERATION

A salary ranging from $40.42 - $53.69 per hour.
