Exciting opportunities are available for an experienced oncology-trained Registered Nurse to join the Day Therapy Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne on a part-time basis with flexible working hours. This is a rewarding opportunity for nurses who are passionate about cancer care and value meaningful interactions with patients and their families.

ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, including the safe administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion therapies.

As a Registered Nurse, your duties will encompass:
  • Administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments;
  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments;
  • Providing education to patients and families on treatment, self-care, and side effect management;
  • Delivering evidence-based nursing care for patients receiving infusions for conditions such as Crohn's disease and Multiple Sclerosis;
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes;
  • Maintaining a strong focus on patient and staff safety;
  • Supporting patients through recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Valid Working with Children Check;
  • Experience in oncology and/or haematology nursing;
  • Ability to administer cytotoxic chemotherapy and related treatments;
  • Competency in:
    • PICC and PORT access;
    • IV cannulation and phlebotomy;
    • Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) management;
  • Current ADAC chemotherapy competency;
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills;
  • Commitment to quality patient care and compliance with ACQSHC National Standards;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Basic computer literacy;
  • A current National Police Check;
  • A current Working with Children Check;
  • Evidence of immunisation status, including COVID-19 vaccination.

REMUNERATION

 A salary ranging from $40.42 - $53.69 per hour.
