An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated and experienced Anaesthetics Registered Nurse who is ready to step into a key leadership role within the Anaesthetics Department at a private hospital on the Sunshine Coast. This is a part-time position offering 32 hours per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Clinical Nurse, you will be required to act as a team leader, professional resource, passionate mentor, and a positive role model to junior team members. You will maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and manage rapidly changing situations with proficiency and care. This leadership role will see the successful candidate be fully supported to enhance their skills and grow a career into a management position.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising patient care, directing workloads and coordinating resource allocation within the department;
  • Serving as a resource person, providing support and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with National standards;
  • Overseeing the mentorship and preceptorship of graduate and transitioning Registered Nurses and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses within the department, facilitating learning opportunities and providing timely feedback on nursing performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current AHPRA registration;
  • Minimum 4 years' experience working in an acute hospital setting;
  • Demonstrated Anaesthetics experience;
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded;
  • A passion for mentoring junior team members and positively influencing their performance;
  • Clinical leadership experience is desirable but not essential.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The hospital is situated one hour north of Brisbane on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and day services across a wide range of specialties. Facilities include nine state-of-the-art operating theatres, two cardiac catheter laboratories, a minor procedure room, a day surgery unit, an 11-bed intensive care/coronary care unit, and a 9-chair day therapy unit. The hospital also features onsite medical consulting suites, together with comprehensive pathology and radiology services.
