Clinical Nurse Educator | Lismore

Exciting opportunities exist for an experienced and motivated Nurse Educator to join the team at a private hospital in Lismore. This is a key leadership position within the organisation, offering an opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening the nursing workforce and supporting excellence in patient care.

Reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Services, the Nurse Educator provides leadership in education, training, and professional development, supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in line with the hospital's mission and values.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, implementing, evaluating and revising continuing education programs for nurses;
• Providing leadership and acting as a role model to support professional nursing practice;
• Delivering formal and informal education and competency assessments at ward/unit and nursing service level;
• Supporting orientation, mentoring and ongoing development of nursing staff;
• Promoting evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives;
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders;
• Ensuring compliance with NSQHS Standards, workplace health and safety, infection control, and legislative requirements;
• Acting as a resource person to support safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience in a relevant nursing specialty;
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and teaching experience;
• Current ALS certification (accreditation to teach ALS is desirable);
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty (or working towards) is desirable;
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
