Exciting opportunities are available for an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join a dynamic team within a ward caring for a diverse surgical patient cohort. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position based at a leading private hospital in Sydney.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, evidence-based training and support to the staff at our hospital;
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs across the facility;
- Providing valuable contributions to the hospital's quality improvement process;
- Facilitating department-based training and clinical competency assessments across undergraduates.
Reporting to the DCS, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Floor managers to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum four (4) years' experience, with demonstrated involvement in education, training, and competency development;
- Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) highly desirable;
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent adult education qualification desirable;
- Experience supporting accreditation processes, including participation in quality improvement activities, policy implementation, and compliance with national standards;
- Demonstrated ability to act as a positive professional role model, promoting safe practice, teamwork, and a culture of continuous learning;
- Leadership and team facilitation experience, supporting staff development, orientation programs, and clinical competency frameworks;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise education initiatives within a busy theatre environment;
- Well-developed clinical problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
- A strong commitment to mentoring and coaching staff, fostering professional growth and positively influencing team performance and patient outcomes.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern 212-bed facility with 12 Operating Theatres and two Cardiac Cath labs. The hospital performs a full range of elective surgeries, including cardiac, neurosurgery, urology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, colorectal, general, plastics, obstetrics, Paediatric, ENT, and Spinal Surgery. The 16-bed ICU provides specialised care for patients who require constant monitoring, intensive nursing care and advanced respiratory, cardiac and renal support therapies.
