A new possibility awaits a Senior Registered Nurse with Mental Health knowledge and experience to join the established Clinical Nurse Team at a private hospital in Perth. This can be either a permanent full-time or part-time position.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Clinical Nurse, you will be part of the management team and be responsible for the effective management and efficient coordination of clinical services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to, and participating in, the education of all levels of staff being involved in department orientation, in servicing, and clinical competence programs;
- Acting as a professional resource and demonstrating broad knowledge in all facets of caring for mental health patients;
- Working with peers, and liaising with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Educator to drive education within the unit;
- Consistently performing accurate and comprehensive patient assessments to address the individual patient's short and long-term needs, including their physical, socia,l and spiritual needs;
- Promoting a positive and supportive culture utilising excellent leadership skills;
- Coordinating shifts on any allocated ward and leading by example;
- Supporting and contributing to the achievement of the clinical, teaching, research, and organisational goals;
- Supporting and contributing to the achievement of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of services to customers;
- Exercising proper courtesy, consideration, and sensitivity in dealings with patients, members of the public, and other employees;
- Acting with integrity in the performance of official duties and in the use of official equipment and facilities;
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and other information;
- Participating in the systematic and continuous development of personal work performance and skills.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- A strong clinical skillset with experience in Mental Health;
- Ability to supervise, lead, direct, and motivate staff to achieve outcomes;
- Well-developed planning, prioritisation, and time management skills;
- Compliance with all legislative requirements in the workplace, including occupational safety and health acts and workers' compensation;
- Flexibility to work across a seven-day roster;
- Compliance with the requirements and guidelines as outlined in the MHA 2014 when managing patients.

REMUNERATION
On offer is a full-time equivalent, base annual salary ranging from $101,393.65 - $107,728.19 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, with a total of 722 beds and bays, is the major hospital for Perth's northern corridor that provides a range of medical and surgical services, maternity services, neonatal and paediatric services, aged care, and rehabilitation. The hospital has an Emergency Department, After Hours GP Clinic, and on-site MRI. Specialties include Medical Specialties, which include General Medicine, Respiratory, Gerontology, Cardiac Services, and Stroke Services Unit. Surgical Specialities include but are not limited to General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Vascular, ENT, Paediatrics, and Gynaecology.
