An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology to provide advanced clinical leadership and support within the urology service at a private hospital in Lismore on a permanent full-time basis.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The CNS is a key leadership role and plays an integral part in ensuring safe, effective and patient‑centred care. The successful candidate will work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team, providing high‑level clinical expertise, education and guidance to staff, patients and families.
The responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high‑level, evidence‑based nursing care for patients with urological conditions;
- Undertaking comprehensive clinical assessments and providing expert consultation within the ward setting;
- Providing education and mentoring to nursing staff to support consistent, safe practice;
- Supporting patients and families with clear information regarding treatment, procedures, and post‑operative expectations;
- Contributing to practice development, service improvement, and clinical leadership;
- Ensuring care is delivered in alignment with professional standards, organisational policies, and relevant legislation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the urology specialty;
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience;
- Proven ability to mentor, educate and support staff in urology nursing;
- Ability to work across all shifts as required;
- High‑level written and verbal communication skills.
