Registered Midwife | Sydney

Exceptional opportunities are available for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Midwife to join the Women's Health Unit at a prestigious private hospital in Sydney. You can join on a full-time or part-time basis. 

As expert midwife, you are expected to be committed to excellence, have extensive skills in post-partum care and birth unit as well as a passion for the delivery of woman-centred care.To succeed in the role you will need to bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their families through the various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be joining a 43-bed post/antenatal/gynecology ward with 7 birthing suite rooms. Supporting this service is a 7-bed level 2 Special Care Nursery. 

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife;
• Minimum of three years' relevant post registration qualifications;
• Demonstrated experience working in the provision of antenatal and post-natal midwifery services;
• Knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines;
• Ability to work effectively in a supportive team;
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care;
• Having a professional manner when working with complex situations;
• Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills;
• Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty;
• IBCLC (lactation) certificate or working towards (desirable);
• Experience in Private Health Care (desirable).
