Registered Nurse – ICU | Perth

This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to critically ill patients in a supportive and collaborative environment. Working alongside experienced nurses, medical staff and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will use your clinical skills and critical thinking to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care for patients requiring intensive care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing safe, high-quality and patient-centred nursing care to patients within the ICU;
• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised nursing care;
• Monitoring patients closely and recognising changes in clinical condition;
• Responding appropriately to deteriorating or critically ill patients within the scope of practice;
• Administering medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical requirements and hospital policies;
• Working collaboratively with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care;
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation;
• Communicating effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team;
• Supporting safe transitions of care and effective clinical handover;
• Maintaining infection prevention and control standards;
• Contributing to quality improvement, education and professional development activities;
• Working in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, professional standards and workplace health and safety requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• Minimum 12 months' experience in Intensive Care and critical care nursing;
• Cardiothoracic experience desirable but not essential;
• Sound clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills;
• Ability to recognise and respond to changes in a patient's condition;
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity and fast-paced environment;
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
• A calm, organised and professional approach;
• Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice and continuous professional development;
• A patient-focused approach and commitment to delivering high-quality care.

REMUNERATION

$41.85 - $54.68 per hour.
