Exciting opportunities exist for a compassionate and highly skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Team at a private hospital in Sydney. This is a permanent full-time role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The ICU Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients, monitoring complex medical conditions, and responding rapidly to changes in patient status. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Manager, Clinical Nurse, Team and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct patient care in a high-acuity intensive care environment;
- Monitoring and managing life-support equipment and invasive lines;
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care;
- Administering medications, interpreting diagnostic results, and adjusting treatment plans as required;
- Providing emotional support to patients and their families during critical situations;
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and upholding infection prevention and control standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Min 12 months experience in ICU or critical care setting preferred;
- Ventilator competent and confident in managing mechanically ventilated patients;
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification desirable;
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.

REMUNERATION
$37.75 - $53.02 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern 212-bed facility with 12 Operating Theatres and two Cardiac Cath labs. The hospital performs a full range of elective surgeries, including cardiac, neurosurgery, urology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, colorectal, general, plastics, obstetrics, Paediatric, ENT, and Spinal Surgery. The 16-bed ICU provides specialised care for patients who require constant monitoring, intensive nursing care and advanced respiratory, cardiac and renal support therapies.
