Exciting opportunities are available for experienced oncology-trained Registered Nurses to join a Day Therapy Unit on a part-time basis at a private hospital in Melbourne.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a Registered Nurse, your duties will encompass:
- Administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive treatments;
- Educating patients on self-care and the effective strategies for management of side effects;
- Providing evidence-based nursing care, including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy as well as other infusions for conditions such as Crohn's and MS;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Working with Children Check;
- Experience working in oncology and haematology;
- Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments;
- Competency in PICC, PORT, IV Cannulation and phlebotomy skills;
- Current ADAC qualification;
- CVAD management experience;
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Works well independently and within a team;
- Basic computer skills.
