An exciting opportunity awaits a Scrub/Scout Nurse with strong Major Orthopaedic experience, as well as General Surgery and Urology expertise, to join the busy Perioperative Team at a private hospital in Brisbane. This permanent part-time role offers 30 hours per week and is ideal for a motivated Theatre Nurse passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role offers excellent opportunities to broaden your multi-skilled theatre experience, with weekday and occasional weekend lists, plus free onsite parking. Primarily supporting busy Orthopaedic theatre lists, the role also offers the opportunity to work across multiple surgical specialities within brand-new, state-of-the-art theatre, CSSD and PACU facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Liaising with the multidisciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing and guiding nursing team members, graduates and students;
- Delivering education and support to individuals/patients to promote effective management of their surgery and health recovery.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Proven Scrub/Scout experience in an acute perioperative environment, particularly in Major Orthopaedics, with the ability to support General Surgery and Urology lists;
- Valid working rights in Australia;
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Works well independently and within a team;
- Basic computer skills;

REMUNERATION
A salary ranging from $41.90 - $53.69 per hour.

Located in Brisbane, the hospital is a 65-bed acute and rehabilitation facility comprising six operating theatres, with a new High Dependency Unit scheduled to open. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist services, including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and internal medicine, alongside leading rehabilitation services and innovative patient-centred programs.
