ABOUT THE ROLE

Your duties will comprise:
- Undertaking perioperative nursing care in accordance with legislation;
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing, and guiding nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs to deliver patient care (RN only);
- Proactively assessing the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the patient;
- Documenting the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely, and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with APHRA;
- At least 2 years of postgraduate experience as a Scrub Scout Nurse;
- Working with Children check (if relevant);
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Ability to work well independently and within a team;
- Basic computer skills;
- Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards) (desirable);
- Experience in Orthopaedic Surgery (desirable).

REMUNERATION
$39.09- $54.89 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
Situated in Southern Sydney, the hospital boasts 168 overnight beds. It is renowned for its expertise in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopedics, maternity, and pediatrics. The facility additionally features a dedicated Day Surgery unit, a Coronary Care Unit, and an Intensive Care Unit.
