A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Registered/Clinical Nurse to take on the role of Nurse Unit Manager and lead the nursing team in a 30-bed Haematology Oncology inpatient ward at a private hospital in Perth. This is a permanent full-time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will see you:
- Being accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources;
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the ward, skilled in ensuring hospital polices are adhered to, especially recognising and responding to clinical deterioration;
- Organising staff education, ensuring mandatory competencies are up to date;
- Being a positive mentor and providing clinical leadership and support to your team;
- Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes;
- Assisting in shaping organisational strategy, improving procedural service provision and achieving departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Competent in supervising, leading, directing and motivating staff to achieve excellent outcomes;
- Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in an acute care environment;
- Demonstrated extensive clinical skills and experience within Haematology Oncology nursing and skilled in chemotherapy administration;
- Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff;
- Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded.
