A rare leadership opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager to be responsible for the overall operational management of a newly opened DOSA & Day Surgery unit at a private hospital on the Mornington Peninsula. This is a full-time permanent position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The NUM will play a critical role in creating a cohesive and collaborative environment supported by the Assistant Nurse Unit Manager, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, and Administrative staff. Your responsibilities will include implementing quality systems in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement, and identifying clinical risks to ensure patient-centred care.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 5 years' postgraduate experience in DOSA/Day Surgery environment;
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support teams effectively;
- Experience managing budgets, including labour costs;
- Postgraduate qualifications in management or leadership;
- Advanced communication skills;
- Previous experience in a senior leadership or management role within a hospital setting.

REMUNERATION
On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $66.09 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

The hospital, located on the Mornington Peninsula, is a 205-bed facility equipped with 4 operating theatres, a high-dependency unit, and a short-stay unit. This modern facility offers a wide range of local services, including orthopaedic, general, breast, and plastic surgery, as well as endoscopy, urology, gynaecology, oncology, and general medicine.
