An exciting new leadership opportunity has opened for a suitable candidate with extensive experience to lead the Theatres Department Team across 8 state-of-the-art operating theatres and a diverse surgical portfolio across orthopaedics, neurosurgery, paediatrics, gynae, urology, general surgery and ophthalmology at a private hospital located in Orange.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As the NUM, you will be taking on a key leadership role within the unit, supported by a cohesive and dedicated team of Theatre Floor Managers, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, and Support and Administrative staff.
A significant part of the NUM role is to effectively lead your team, ensuring staff are equipped to perform their roles to the highest standards within a safe and collaborative environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Theatre Department.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the successful candidate, you will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum of five years' experience in an acute hospital environment essential;
- Demonstrate experience in a leadership or management role;
- Experience and knowledge with theatre, anaesthetics and recovery requirements;
- Proven ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources;
- Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice;
- Post Graduate Qualifications in Perioperative Nursing and or Health/Business and/or Management (desirable).

REMUNERATION
A base hourly rate ranging from $68.49 - $73.68 + superannuation + applicable penalty rates, based on experience level and qualifications.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Orange, is a 62-bed facility that provides a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, rehabilitation, and psychiatric services. The hospital has 5 Operating Theatres. Apart from general medical and surgical beds, there are 17 licensed rehabilitation beds and a 13-bed mental health unit.
