A unique leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Emergency Department at a private hospital in Hobart. This full-time, permanent role oversees a 24/7 department known for shorter waiting times and a strong focus on high-quality patient treatment, outcomes, and overall experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be leading a small but mighty team of highly experienced and dedicated clinical nursing staff who advocate for their patients and create a positive working culture for their teammates. This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital. You will ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of evidence-based nursing care. In addition, you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Specialised nursing experience in emergency care;
- Previous NUM experience or equivalent;
- Working with Vulnerable People Check;
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.

REMUNERATION
73.85 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Hobart, is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds providing a unique range of acute services, including general surgery, specialty care in orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, breast, colorectal, oral, vascular, plastics, obesity surgery, and select surgery for paediatrics. The facility has a Critical Care Unit with 10 beds and a step-down unit with 15 beds.
