An exciting opportunity exists for motivated and experienced Registered Nurses to join a dynamic Cardiac Cath Laboratory team at a private hospital near Newcastle. There are several permanent part-time roles available, working Monday to Friday with shift start times between 6:00 am and 12:00 pm. The position offers a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts to support flexible rostering and work-life balance. Participation in an after-hours and weekend on-call roster is required.
ABOUT THE POSITION
You will work alongside a highly skilled and collaborative team of Cardiologists, nurses, cardiac technologists, and radiographers, all committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
As a Cath Lab Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Cath Lab team in cardiac procedures in the perioperative environment (scrubbing, scouting, recovery roles);
- Developed interpersonal skills, self-motivated and customer-focused to work as part of a high-functioning team;
- Enjoying continuous learning and education in caring for cardiac patients;
- Time management and the ability to prioritise effectively to manage competing workloads within a complex environment;
- Delivering safe, research-based standards of nursing care;
- Actively contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement and safe practice.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 1 year Cath Lab experience desirable or Cardiac Acute Care or Critical Care experience preferred, however, there is a Transition to Cath Lab Nursing structured program for those with no experience with supportive preceptors and CNS's for the right candidate;
- Working with Children Check;
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have a positive work ethic as part of a harmonious team member;
- Knowledge of and ability to practice within the National Standards;
- Commitment to providing great customer service in our fast-paced environment;
- Perioperative experience (anaesthetics/recovery)is desirable but not essential;
- Flexibility to work across a range of shifts and on call.

REMUNERATION
On offer is a base hourly rate of $38.88 - $54.61 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

The hospital is an acute Advanced Surgical and Medical Hospital situated 15 km south of the Newcastle CBD. The hospital offers the following specialties: Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, General Surgery (including Colorectal), Breast Surgery, Plastics, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Vascular and Oncology. The 6-bed emergency department includes a state-of-the-art resuscitation room, triage room, and procedure room.
