Clinical Nurse Specialist – Recovery | Darwin

A new possibility awaits a suitably qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the established Recovery and Day Surgery department at a private hospital in Darwin. This can be either a full-time or part-time position.

You will be provided with many learning opportunities across a diverse range of nursing skill sets. 

• Delivering quality nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care;
• Providing a high standard of care in accordance with each individual's level of experience and education, while maintaining high-quality nursing care within a safe environment;
• Developing and utilising strategies that encourage an atmosphere conducive to effective communication;
• Assisting the NUM of Recovery and DSU in developing, coordinatin,g and facilitating education programs, quality activities, HR duties, and WH&S and risk assessments across Recovery and DSU;
• Adhering to the 8 NSQHS Clinical Standards and driving quality and safety initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current Registration with AHPRA;
• Experience in Day Surgery or Recovery units;
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in Recovery, DSU, or critical care environment;
• High-level interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication and customer service skills;
• Positive attitude and able to work in a team and work well independently;
• The desire to go above and beyond and provide a high standard of service;
• Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
• Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (anaesthetics and recovery)/Critical Care (or working towards);
• Working with Children check;
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
