A fantastic opportunity has become available for a passionate and motivated Perioperative Services Manager to take on a leadership position within the Perioperative Department on a full-time basis at a private hospital in Melbourne.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Perioperative Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating and allocating staff;
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations in the theatre;
  • Understanding legislative requirements, ACORN, and Sterilisation standards;
  • Applying knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk management;
  • Ensuring workplace health and safety guidelines and policies are met;
  • Managing budgets and attaining budgetary targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Maintaining effective relationships with major stakeholders;
  • Ensuring the theatre is run ethically and complies with policies, procedures, and all legal requirements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration;
  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Perioperative Nursing, Business and/or Management (or working towards);
  • Minimum of 5 years senior nursing experience within the Perioperative Unit;
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office;
  • Experience looking after a minimum of 5 theatres;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Working with children check;
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Melbourne's northwestern suburbs, is a fully accredited 186-bed major surgical, acute medical, and emergency facility. With a 12-cubicle Emergency Department, 5 operating theatres, a 12-bed critical care complex and a busy Day Procedure Unit, the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
