An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Nurse Manager to take on a key leadership role within theatres, recovery, CSSD, day surgery and surgical wards at a private facility located in Melbourne. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, efficient and patient‑centred care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Surgical and Perioperative Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing workforce planning, rostering and skill mix to support safe and efficient service delivery;
- ]Demonstrating understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN Standards and sterilisation standards;
- Leading accreditation processes and clinical quality and risk management activities;
- Ensuring workplace health and safety policies, procedures and legislative obligations are met;
- Managing budgets, controlling costs and achieving budgetary targets and key performance indicators (KPIs);
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with VMOs, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing;
- Significant senior leadership experience within perioperative services in an acute healthcare setting;
- Demonstrated experience in theatre operations, workforce management and budget accountability;
- Strong knowledge of perioperative standards, including ACORN and relevant sterilisation standards;
- Experience leading accreditation, quality improvement and risk management activities;
- Well-developed communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills;
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
