An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and experienced clinician to join the leadership team of a private hospital in Sydney on a full-time basis. As the Postnatal Midwife Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the Maternity Ward, overseeing the delivery of exceptional postnatal care and supporting a high-performing clinical team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practices. Reporting to the Clinical Services Maternity Manager, you'll mentor and lead a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff. This role is a good fit for someone who helps others succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Being accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the maternity ward;
- Ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes;
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating practices, processes and services in line with the hospital's standards, legislative requirements and best practice.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum of five (5) years' post-graduate midwifery experience;
- Proven experience as a senior nurse or manager (highly desirable);
- Flexibility in rostering to support junior staff/unit;
- Current Birth Suite experience highly desirable;
- Education experience is highly desirable;
- Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources.
