An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced perioperative nurse to step into the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager, specialising in plastics within a dynamic surgical environment at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a full-time permanent role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a senior member of a clinical team, you will review, plan, oversee, and deliver patient care within the unit under the guidance and support of the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) provides operational leadership and expert clinical oversight within the perioperative/plastics area. You will drive high-quality patient care and efficient theatre-to-ward workflows, coordinate daily unit operations, and mentor clinical staff, with an emphasis on managing complex plastic patient care.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum three (2 -3) years' perioperative nursing experience;
- Previous experience in a surgical or day procedure unit;
- Flexibility to be available weekends, weekdays, and evenings;
- Exceptional communication skills;
- Clinical leadership experience or post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded;
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Extensive clinical experience working in plastic cases.

The hospital, located in Melbourne, is an acute 72-bed Surgical and Medical facility in Hampton's bayside suburb. The facility has 3 Operating Theatres, 2 Procedure Rooms, a Day Surgery unit, and a 4-bed High Dependency unit. It also offers on-site Radiology and Pathology services, Physiotherapy services, and busy specialist consulting suites. A comprehensive range of services is provided, including Breast Surgery, ENT, Gastrointestinal Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.
