Nurse Unit Manager – Anaesthesia/PACU | Port Macquarie

Outstanding prospects are available at the private hospital in Port Macquarie for a Nurse Unit Manager with strong clinical knowledge and competence within an acute surgical setting to provide operational and clinical leadership to the perioperative nursing team. This is a full-time permanent role.

In this role, you will oversee daily staff scheduling, resource allocation, and clinical workflows to ensure seamless patient transitions from pre-operative care through to post-surgical recovery. You will be responsible for maintaining strict safety standards, managing unit budgets, and fostering a collaborative environment that aligns with the hospital's governance and quality care objectives. As a vital link between frontline nursing staff, anaesthetists, and hospital administration, you will play a key role in optimising theatre efficiency and patient outcomes. The Nurse Unit Manager position combines strong clinical expertise, strategic planning, and supportive leadership, enabling the nursing team to deliver exceptional patient care and high-quality clinical services.

• Current Registration with AHPRA;
• Minimum three (3) years' nursing experience;
• Previous experience in a surgical or day procedure unit;
• Flexibility to be available weekends, weekdays and evenings;
• Clinical leadership experience or post graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded;
• Current clinical experience working in perioperative services.

The hospital, located in Port Macquarie, is a 72-bed acute Medical/Surgical and Rehab facility with 6 Renal Chairs and a Day Surgery complex. Comprehensive Medical/Surgical services are offered with 24-hour Medical Officer Support, including Orthopaedics, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Bariatric and Vascular, Plastic & Ophthalmology.
