A new opportunity has arisen for a confident and calm leader who has experience in what excellence looks like in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory to bring technical expertise and sound judgement to a private hospital in Perth. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Cardiac Catheter Laboratory provides a variety of specialist services, including coronary angiograms, percutaneous coronary intervention, electrophysiology with advanced 3D mapping for complex arrhythmias, cardiac implantable devices, vascular intervention and structural heart cases. 

You will guide a skilled multidisciplinary workforce, champion safety and quality, and lead a service trusted for complex cardiac and vascular care. As an experienced Nurse Unit Manager leading the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Team, your responsibilities will include: 
  • Leading unit operations while driving patient safety and excellence in care delivery;
  • Delivering results by managing performance across key areas, including patient safety, quality, financial outcomes, and operational efficiency;
  • Bringing technical expertise, sound judgement, and strong interpersonal skills to achieve high-quality patient care and service outcomes;
  • Supporting staff in the angiosuite, solving operational challenges, and contributing to the strategic growth and development of the service;
  • Championing quality care by implementing safety frameworks and continuously improving patient outcomes;
  • Mentoring and supporting team members by providing leadership, guidance, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory;
  • Proven leadership experience in Cardiology and Vascular surgical care;
  • Attainment of qualifications and/or competency in Angiography disciplines;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage Cardiac Catheter Laboratory inventory, including purchased and consignment stock, high-value consumables, prostheses/devices, and supplier liaison;
  • Experience contributing to refurbishment planning, capital works, equipment replacement, and service development within a procedural or Cardiac Catheter Laboratory environment;
  • Commercial acumen and experience supporting the operational administration of contracts and service agreements;
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving quality and performance outcomes;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to consult, guide, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve department objectives;
  • High computer literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Office.

REMUNERATION
$71.73 per hour.
 

ABOUT THE FACILITY
Situated in Perth, the hospital offers an extensive array of services across various adult medical specialties. Notably, the Angiography suite operates as a highly active unit, performing more than 4,120 coronary and vascular procedures each year, and its services continue to expand. The Cath Labs within this suite offer a wide range of specialized services, including coronary angiograms, percutaneous coronary intervention, electrophysiology with 3D mapping ablations, FFR and IVUS procedures, cardiac implantable devices, vascular interventions, and complex cases involving structural heart issues such as PFOs, LAAOs, TAVI, and Mitral Valve prosthetic implantations.
