ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Hospital Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising safe, high-quality patient care that meets current best practice standards;
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills;
- Supporting and liaising with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments;
- Liaising and coordinating patient admissions out of hours with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs);
- Assisting with the coordination of safe and efficient staffing profiles across all clinical departments;
- Managing patient flow, including the timely transfer of patients from the Emergency Department and external providers;
- Coordinating and planning operational processes, including emergency responses;
- Coordinating patient admissions and providing discharge planning support;
- Supporting the hospital's commitment to quality improvement, National Safety Standards, and maintaining the safety of staff, patients, and visitors.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 5 years working as a Registered Nurse;
- Ability to manage competing demands and co-ordinate resources appropriately;
- Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Recent experience in bed management and/or patient flow;
- Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff;
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
- Leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members.
REMUNERATION
Salary ranges between $ 57.69 and $65.98 per hour + 12.5% Super.

The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 295 beds that provides Emergency Services, Intensive Care and Cardiac Services, including a 24-hour Cardiac Cath Lab and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 8 surgical wards with various specialties, including cardiac, general surgery, plastics, colorectal, hepatobiliary, urology, orthopaedics, neurosurgery and vascular surgery.
