An exciting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join a hospital in Brisbane as an Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator. This permanent part-time position offers 0.6 FTE and is ideal for a skilled nurse and confident multitasker looking to take the next step in their career.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The position supports Infection Control programs, contributing to the hospital's strategic direction, daily operations and ongoing accreditation requirements. Reporting to the Quality, Risk and Infection Control Manager, you will assist with implementing, monitoring and evaluating infection control procedures and standards, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and relevant committees. You will contribute to data collection, KPIs, clinical indicators and audits, with sound knowledge of the NSQHS and ACHS accreditation standards. The role also involves supporting clinical teams, providing direct patient care as required, and delivering education and guidance to nursing staff.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • At least 5 years postgraduate experience and/or qualifications in Infection Control; 
  • Experience in the Acute setting;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases;
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment; 
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
  • Immunisation certificate (or working towards) (desirable);
  • Auditing skills.

ABOUT THE FACILITY 

Located in Brisbane, the hospital is a 65-bed acute and rehabilitation facility comprising six operating theatres, with a new High Dependency Unit scheduled to open. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist services, including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and internal medicine, alongside leading rehabilitation services and innovative patient-centred programs.
