Step into the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Intensive Care Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne, supporting a high-performing team and contributing to the delivery of outstanding clinical care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an ANUM in ICU, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and wider leadership team to support the day-to-day operations of the unit. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging nurse leader or experienced clinician looking to further develop their leadership and management capabilities within a dynamic, high-acuity environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the daily clinical and operational management of the ICU;
- Coordinating evidence-based nursing care and maintaining high standards of patient outcomes;
- Providing leadership, mentorship and support to nursing staff;
- Fostering a positive team culture focused on continuous learning and professional development;
- Building strong relationships with VMOs and multidisciplinary teams;
- Driving quality improvement initiatives and clinical audit activities;
- Contributing to workforce planning and effective resource management;
- Providing direct patient care and clinical leadership when required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Current Working with Children Check (where applicable);
- Recent ICU nursing experience;
- Previous ANUM, Acting ANUM or Clinical Nurse Specialist experience (highly regarded);
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills;
- Minimum three years' post-registration clinical experience;
- Knowledge of ACQSHC National Standards;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management abilities;
- A commitment to leading by example and promoting a positive team culture.

REMUNERATION
Salaries range between $60.14 and $62.17 per hour + 12.5% Super.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
