Nurse Unit Manager – Cardiology | Sunshine Coast

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join the clinical leadership team on a full-time basis at a private hospital on the Sunshine Coast. 

As the Cardiac Services Nurse Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the Cardiac Services unit. You will be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practice. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services (ADCS), you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff, so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Being accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the ward/unit;
• Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes;
• Planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services in line with standards, legislative requirements and best practice.

• Current AHPRA registration;
• Minimum of 5 years' current acute nursing experience;
• Cardiology experience is not essential but highly desirable;
• Proven knowledge as a senior nurse or manager (highly desirable);
• Flexibility to work within a dynamic team across the organisation;
• Management or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded;
• Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management;
• Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources.

REMUNERATION

A base hourly rate of $68.14 - $73.73 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties and allowances.

The hospital is situated one hour north of Brisbane on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and day services across a wide range of specialties. Facilities include nine state-of-the-art operating theatres, two cardiac catheter laboratories, a minor procedure room, a day surgery unit, an 11-bed intensive care/coronary care unit, and a 9-chair day therapy unit. The hospital also features onsite medical consulting suites, together with comprehensive pathology and radiology services.
