Nurse Unit Manager – Medical & Surgical | Mornington Peninsula

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Nurse Unit Manager will lead the establishment and ongoing management of a General Medical & Surgical ward, encompassing General Surgery, Urology and Plastics. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse to build a high-performing team, foster a positive workplace culture and deliver safe, consistent and patient-centred care. With proven leadership skills and a passion for clinical excellence, this role offers the opportunity to drive outstanding patient outcomes while shaping the culture and future success of the service.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing clinical, operational and professional leadership across the General Medical & Surgical Ward;
• Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care and optimal clinical outcomes;
• Planning, implementing and evaluating clinical practices, processes and services.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current Registration with AHPRA;
• Experience in the acute medical and surgical setting is highly desirable;
• Leadership or management experience is desirable;
• Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills;
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities;
• A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement;
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage challenging situations;
• Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment;
• Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and professional growth.

REMUNERATION

$68.76 - $70.82 per hour.
