An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced, motivated Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) to join a close-knit maternity team at a private hospital in Newcastle. This permanent role offers flexibility from 0.6 to 1.0 FTE, with the opportunity to mentor student, graduate and experienced midwives while driving excellence in education and evidence-based practice. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Clinical Midwifery Educator, your responsibilities may include:
- Delivering education and professional development programs across the maternity service;
- Mentoring, supporting and educating student, graduate and early-career midwives;
- Coordinating orientation, onboarding and competency assessments;
- Promoting evidence-based practice and driving continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Minimum 4-5 years' post-registration midwifery experience;
- Recent Birth Suite experience;
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or working towards;
- Experience teaching and mentoring midwives and students;
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.

REMUNERATION
$66 - $79 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Newcastle, is an 189-bed, acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. A cardiac suite includes a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite, including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery, is available for families in the Newcastle region. The facility provides specialty care for individuals and their families undergoing cancer treatment and care with an inpatient unit and a day infusion lounge.
